Changes to the undergraduate catalog since publishing date: 3/1/23

 

March 7-10, 2023- Due to a technical issue, if omitted, the following courses were added to the selections under the Core Curriculum Requirements for B.A., B.A.S., B.F.A., B.S., B.S./M.S. and B.S.N. programs:

March 21, 2023- Due to a clerical error, the following course names were corrected:

  • WRIT 3305  changed from Advanced Writing for Education to Advanced Writing for Humanities
  • WRIT 3306   changed from Advanced Writing for Humanities to Advanced Writing for Social Sciences

 

March 27, 2023- Due to post-publishing approvals, the following course names were corrected:

  • ARTS 3352   Changed from Traditional Photography to Film Photography
  • ARTS 4350   Changed from Advanced Traditional Photography to Advanced Film Photography
  • ARTS 4331   The following verbiage was changed in the ARTS 3331 prerequisite content–  May be repeated for credit with permission of instructor changed to May be repeated for credit.
  • ARTS 4352   The following verbiage was added to the ARTS 2371 prerequisite content–  May be repeated for credit with instructor’s permission.

 

March 29, 2023- Due to post-publishing approvals, the following changes were made within the College of Human Sciences and Humanties:

April 5, 2023- The following content was changed in the Biological Science B.S./M.S. Clinical Laboratory Sciences  program:

 

April 10, 2023- Due to paper supply limit and in preparation for electronic transcript integration, Registration and Records Services  changed the number from 10 to 3 transcripts available per request form. 

 

April 17, 2023- The following content was added to the undergraduate Admission Requirements for Freshman Educated Outside the U.S.in the International Admissions and Programs  chapter:

  • Possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school/secondary diploma*
  • Submit official SAT (950+) or ACT (20+) scores
  • Meet the English proficiency requirement
  • Possess a minimum equivalent GPA of 2.5 (4.0 scale)

June 1, 2023- Due to a clerical error, the following credit hour content was ammended in the undergraduate course roster:

  • MKTG 4332  credit hours were changed from 0 to 3.

Fall semester freshman students must be eligible to enroll in, or have college credit for, MATH 2412, MATH 2413, or MATH 2414. For spring semester admissions, freshman students must be eligible to enroll in, or have college credit for, MATH 2413 or MATH 2414.

Requirements for Students from Other Institutions and current UHCL Students Seeking a Change of Major to Mechanical Engineering

To be considered for admission into the program, students must meet the GPA requirements shown in the table below and must have credit for (can include AP credit):

MATH 2413 - Calculus I and MATH 2414 - Calculus II

CHEM 1311 - General Chemistry and CHEM 1111 - Laboratory for General Chemistry I

PHYS 2325 - University Physics I and PHYS 2125 - Laboratory for University Physics I

July 20, 2023-

The General Program Requirements  chapter added content in reference to applying for a certificate.

 

July 20, 2023-

The Tuition and Fees  chapter added a $25.00 fee for certificates under the Special Fees section.

 

July 26, 2023-

The course fee was eliminated for MATH 4346 .

 

August 2, 2023-

The following content was removed from the Repeated Courses section under the General Program Requirements  chapter:

“Any repeated courses where the final attempt was made prior to fall 2008 will be counted in the GPA calculation and in determining academic standing. With prior approval of the appropriate associate dean, students may repeat courses at another college or university to raise a grade, including F, earned at UHCL.”

 

August 24, 2023-

The course title for HIST 4313   was corrected. 

 

August 28, 2023-

The UHCL Office of Student Advocacy and the Student Diversity, Equity and Inclusion office were merged to create a new Center for Student Advocacy and Community (CSAC) , effective 9/1/23.

 

August 30, 2023-

The UHCL Counseling Services Office changed its name to the Counseling and Mental Health Center 

 

August 31, 2023-

The UHCL Student Enrollment Center (SEC) changed its name to the Welcome Center 

 

February 15, 2024-

ARTS 4380  made Active-Visible in catalog.

 

February 15, 2024-

EMGT 4334   and EMGT 4391   were added to the catalog.  The courses were approved on the spring supplemental course file.
