MATH 4350 - Fundamentals of Actuarial Mathematics

Key features of insurance and reinsurance coverages. Characteristics of and uses for commonly used severity, frequency, and aggregate models. Introduction to Credibility. The calculation of premiums and reserves for short-term insurance coverages. Introduction to option pricing. Key features of insurance coverages and retirement financial security programs. Parametric and Non-Parametric Estimation. The premium and policy value calculation processes for long-term insurance coverages. Prepare the students for the Society of Actuaries exam on Fundamentals of Actuarial Mathematics.

Prerequisites: MATH 4344/STAT 4344 or MATH 4346/STAT 4346, and MATH 4348/STAT 4348
