AERO 3334 - Aerospace MaterialsCredit Hours: 3 Lecture: 2 Lab: 3
Building on MENG 3324 Materials Science, this course offers an in-depth study of materials used in aircraft and spacecraft design, emphasizing their properties, manufacturing processes, testing methods, and failure mechanisms. It explores the challenges of extreme aerospace environments, such as high temperatures, pressures, and vibrations, while focusing on lightweight, high strength-to-weight ratio materials, including aluminum alloys, titanium alloys, carbon fiber composites, and ceramics.
