ITEC 3388 - Cyber Security I

This course is the first of a two-course sequence that covers the 10 different security areas (a. k. a. domains) considered important to becoming an information systems security professional. This course will introduce an overview of the fundamental technology, principles and practices of security operations. Students will be introduced to the concepts of information security, risk management, security governance, identification, methods and technologies, intrusion detection systems. Students will also learn about the principles of security architecture and design and physical and environmental security. They will also be introduced to the notions of telecommunication and network security.

Prerequisites: CENG 3331  or CINF 3331  or ITEC 3365  or CSCI 1471 .
