The Department of Social and Cultural Sciences (SCS) provides students with critical thinking skills and analytical knowledge to help them understand the social contexts of their intellectual, artistic, and professional work. The faculty of our interdisciplinary department span the social sciences: Behavioral Sciences-General, Criminology, Cross-Cultural and Global Studies and Sociology. The department’s elective courses highlight interdisciplinary approaches and intellectual diversity that foster critical investigation and curiosity. Students may choose from a variety of courses that examine the political, social, cultural, and geographical forces that shape life.
