Minor in Process Safety Management

The Process Safety Management Minor will build on the knowledge in existing areas in Industrial Hygiene, and Safety fields, as well as other disciplines such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Chemical Processes to measure potential risk due to these processes and make recommendations to eliminate potential hazards.

The main purpose is to cater to students with no or little background in Safety

Required credit hours: 15 credit hours.

However, existing OSHE students would only need to take 2 additional courses for the Minor.

OSHE 4334 - Chemical Processing and Petroleum Refining Credit Hours: 3
OSHE 4335 - Process Safety and Chemical Risk Management Credit Hours: 3

OSHE 4316 - System Safety and Accident Investigation Credit Hours: 3
OSHE 4323 - Hazardous Materials and Emergency Management Credit Hours: 3
