This plan leads to the Master of Arts in Human Resource Management. The degree requires a minimum of 36 hours: 10 required courses (30 hours) and two elective courses (6 hours). Depending on a student’s academic background, an additional foundation course (3 hours) may be required.
The M.A. HRM with Certificate Start offers students an opportunity to complete both a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management and a Certificate in HRM. This program allows students to enhance their skill set and marketability through a certificate in the specialized area of HRM while completing their Master of Arts.
The M.A. HRM with Certificate Start has greater flexibility in entry requirements, with standardized test waiver criteria which differ from the traditional M.A. HRM program. This allows admitted students to demonstrate their success in a graduate certificate program before beginning their M.A. HRM coursework.
Students are required to complete the Certificate in Human Resource Management before continuing in the Master of Arts.
Grade Requirements
The College of Business requires a minimum of 3.000 cumulative grade point average on course work taken at UHCL. No grade lower than a C is acceptable toward a graduate degree. This includes foundation work as well as the plan requirements. Grades of C- or lower are not acceptable.
