The Dual Degree Bachelor of Science and Master of Healthcare Administration (M.H.A.) or Master of Healthcare Administration/Master of Business Administration (M.H.A./M.B.A.) program is designed for focused undergraduate students who are committed to leadership careers in healthcare management. This plan provides a streamlined path to graduate study, enabling students to develop the competencies necessary for effective decision-making and leadership in healthcare organizations and systems.
Students may select either the M.H.A. or the M.H.A./M.B.A. as their graduate pathway. The Dual Degree plan accelerates completion of both degrees and offers a competitive edge in the job market.
Students must apply to the appropriate graduate program (M.H.A. or M.H.A./M.B.A.) by the first semester of their senior year.
Graduate Admission Requirements
To qualify for admission into the M.H.A. or M.H.A./M.B.A. program:
- Students must have a cumulative UHCL GPA of 3.0 or higher or 2.5 or higher for the launch track programs.
The B.S. will not be awarded until all graduate program requirements are completed.
Students not admitted into the graduate portion of the program will continue in the traditional B.S. in Healthcare Administration track and proceed to graduation.

Dual Degree B.S./M.H.A.: 120 hours undergraduate + 30 hours graduate coursework
Dual Degree B.S./M.H.A.-M.B.A.: 120 hours undergraduate + 51 hours graduate coursework
