The Alternative Certification Program is an option for individuals to earn a valid Texas teaching certificate in a certificate category found in Texas Administrative Code. Candidates for this plan must complete 58 credit hours of Educator Preparation Program (EPP) coursework aligned to their specific certification area. A clinical teaching or internship assignment is required. In addition, candidates must pass the required TExES Certification Exams.
