The joint degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration leads to the Master of Healthcare Administration/Master of Business Administration degree. In addition to the grade-point average and GMAT requirements, entrance into this plan also requires the submission of a résumé, three letters of recommendation, and a statement of career goals. All materials must be received by the application deadline so that the applicant can be considered for admission. Only completed applications will be considered. The résumé, three letters of recommendation, and statement of career goals should be sent to the Office of Admissions, University of Houston-Clear Lake, 2700 Bay Area Blvd, Houston, TX 77058-1098.
Students must complete the launch track coursework in good standing before progressing into the remaining MHA/MBA coursework.

Grade Requirements
The College of Business requires a minimum of a 3.000 cumulative grade point average is required on course work taken at UHCL. No grade lower than a C is acceptable toward a graduate degree. This includes foundation work as well as the plan requirements. Grades of C- or lower are not acceptable. Foundation requirements (3 hours)
HADM Leadership Certificate
The Healthcare Leadership Graduate Certificate is designed for professionals looking to build or advance careers in healthcare management and administration. This flexible, four-course program equips students with essential leadership skills in human resources, legal compliance, marketing, and quality improvement-preparing graduates to lead teams, drive organizational change, and navigate the complexities of today’s healthcare systems. Ideal for emerging managers, clinicians transitioning into administrative roles, and experienced professionals seeking leadership credentials.
MHA Core
Students must complete all five (5) classes. MHA Electives
Elective courses must be selected from outside the core and the student’s chosen certificate to ensure a broader exposure to healthcare administration topics. Students must complete two (2) electives. Core Requirements (24 hours)
Flexible Core - Choose Four
Students may take any four approved 1.5 SCH flexible core courses. All courses on this list are approved, check with program advisor for additional approved courses. |
