Business Administration, MBA with Launch Track

Launch track
Students who are admitted through Launch track will choose 9 SCH of Launch courses from the following bins:
1) up to 9 SCH from graduate courses associated with approved certificates (Commercialization of Space, Management of Technology, Human Resource Management Fundamentals, Environmental Management, Global Sustainability, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation, and Management of Technology),
2) 3 SCH from flexible core courses, or
3) 3 SCH of ACCT 5131.
This means that students can choose from:
1. 9 SCH from certificate courses,
2. or 6 SCH from certificate courses and 3 SCH from flexible core courses
3. or 6 SCH from certificate courses and 3 SCH from ACCT 5131.
4. or ACCT 5131, 3 SCH from certificate courses and 3 SCH from flexible core courses

Grade Requirements
The College of Business requires a minimum of a 3.000 cumulative grade point average is required on course work taken at UHCL. No grade lower than a C is acceptable toward a graduate degree; this includes foundation work as well as the plan requirements. Grades of C- or lower are not acceptable. Foundation Requirements (3 hours)
MBA Launch Track (9 hours)
Students must complete nine hours from the following: - Up to 3 hours from the MBA flexible core,
- ACCT 5131, or
- Required or elective courses in approved certificates (Commercialization of Space, Management of Technology, Human Resource Management Fundamentals, Environmental Management, Global Sustainability, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation, and Management of Technology).
Students may not progress into the remainder of the MBA coursework until successfully completing launch track with a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA. If ACCT 5131 or Flexible core courses are used to fulfill Launch Track reuireqments, students must add electives to meet the 30 hour requirement of the MBA degree. These electives are taken after completing the Launch Track and may be taken from any approved MBA elective offering (typically COB graduate courses). Core Requirements (24 hours)
Flexible Core - Choose Four
Students may take any four approved 1.5 SCH flexible core courses. All courses on this list are approved, check with program advisor for additional approved courses. |
