UHCL Alternative Certification Program Mathematics 7-12

Alternative Certification Program Guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must pass Pre-Admissions Content Test (PACT)
- GPA of 2.5 in last 60 undergraduate semester credit hours
- Must apply to UHCL Alternative Certification Program
- Must pass content state assessment by end of the first summer semester
- Must pass the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities state assessment by the end of the second spring semester
- Documented 30 hours of field-based experience prior to being permitted to apply for teaching positions (Hours may be earned through the completion of methods courses.)

Additional Information
After the 1st spring semester, students will select from two capstone tracks: Additional Information
Completion of any needed additional no cost workshops (Dyslexia, mental health, technology, etc.) 1st Fall Semester (choose one)
2nd Spring Semester (choose one)
