Film and Media Studies Minor

We live in a world that is increasingly dominated by visual and digital images and narratives. From audiobooks and podcasts to streaming film and television, from graphic novels and comics to hypertext literatures, students minoring in film and media studies will explore and transcend the boundaries of traditional humanities, arts, and social sciences. The minor incorporates courses across the College of Human Sciences and Humanities, allowing students to create an interdisciplinary experience that will help prepare them for jobs in the expanding digital marketplace.

All students pursuing the minor in Film and Media Studies must complete 15 hours of coursework, 9 hours of which must not overlap with any other course required for the student’s major or other minor(s).

Required core course (3 hours):

HIST 4325 will count for minor credit only when the topic title is “Reel Middle East.”
