An introduction to modern astrophysics. Creation of the universe, lives and deaths of stars, stellar structure and composition, spectral study of various stellar objects including binary stars, planetary systems, neutron stars, black holes, galaxies and clusters. A study of stellar events like mergers of stars and galaxies, supernovae explosion and solar system events.

Prerequisites: PHYS 2426 MATH 2414 .
