This course is to study scientific methods and perform computing simulations for numerical solutions of problems in applications. We will learn the significance of errors in scientific computing for these problems. This course focuses on numerical computing in topics, such as various root finding methods in single equations and systems of equations, effective methods for numerical approximations of integrations and differentiations, and least square methods for best fit lines.

Prerequisites: MATH 2315, MATH 2318, MATH 2320, CSCI 1320 or CSCI 1470
