MATH 3302 - History of Mathematics After AD 500

Credit Hours: 3 Lecture: 3 Lab: 0

A survey of the history of mathematics from the approximately AD 500 to the 20th century. Students will explore development of algebraic notation, through the development of calculus, to more modern work such as modern algebra, analysis, and topology. The work and life of major mathematicians will span from John Napier to David Hilbert. No prior experience of the history of mathematics is required.
