KINE 4378 - Athletic Training Field ExperienceCredit Hours: 3 Lecture: 0 Lab: 3
This course provides hands-on experience in athletic training operations, including injury documentation, equipment maintenance, and treatment preparation, with an emphasis on using appropriate medical terminology and providing emergency care under supervision. Students will complete 300 hours of practical experience in an approved collegiate, high school, or clinical setting under a licensed athletic trainer. The course must be repeated five times for credit, totaling at least 1500 field hours, with only 600 hours allowed outside of the collegiate setting, covering both contact and non-contact sports.
Prerequisites: KINE 4305 - Introduction to Athletic Training Course must be repeated five times for students seeking Texas Licensure for Athletic Training.
