The degree in general business leads to the Bachelor of Science. A minimum of 57 upper-level (33XX and 43XX) hours and a total of 120 hours are required for the baccalaureate degree.

Major Requirements (18 hours)

All courses within the Major Requirements must be completed with a grade of C- or better. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required to graduate.

Eighteen hours in upper-level (33xx or 43xx) business coursework with no more than six hours of coursework from any one of the following areas: Accounting, Decision Sciences, Economics, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Management Information Systems, Management, and/or Marketing.

Elective Requirements (12 hours)

Choose four courses from any upper-level (33xx or 43XX) elective courses offered by Colleges of Business, Human Sciences & Humanities, Science & Engineering or Education.

Graduation Requirements

Students must complete the final 30 semester hours of 3000- and 4000-level coursework in residence at UHCL.
Students must complete a minimum of 12 semester credit hours of upper-level (3000-4000 level) coursework: (1) in the major and (2) in residence at UHCL.
Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.000 on coursework completed at UHCL with grades of “C” or better on at least 30 hours of resident upper-level work. Grades of “C-” or below cannot be applied toward the 30 hours of resident upper-level work.
