Aerospace Engineering, B.S. Degree Map
UHCL’s Aerospace Engineering B.S. program offers a unique opportunity to study near the heart of the aerospace industry, with NASA’s Johnson Space Center, the Houston Spaceport, and numerous major aerospace companies just miles away. The first and only undergraduate aerospace program within 100 miles, our program is also one of only five in Texas, providing students with unparalleled access to cutting-edge facilities and industry partnerships.
UHCL’s Aerospace Engineering program aims to build off the groundbreaking partnerships with aerospace industry leaders that UHCL has forged to offer students unique opportunities for entry-level employment experience. Students will engage in a wide array of space and human flight design, engineering, and operations projects, gaining highly technical work experiences before graduation that are seldom found in academia. Students in the program will gain skills and experiences related to the design and sustained functioning of aircraft and spacecraft. As graduates, they will possess a working knowledge of aerodynamics, aerospace design, aerospace structures and materials, control system design, propulsion, incompressible fluid dynamics, solid and fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
Aerospace Engineering Requirements This degree requires 128 hours and includes 42 hours of University Core. However, some of the major requirements courses listed below also satisfy the University Core. If other courses are taken to satisfy the University Core, the major requirements below are still required for graduation, and substitutions are not accepted.
